Sunday Obligation
Bishop Vincent Long has decreed, in accordance with the Code of Canon Law (no. 1248.2) and the Catechism of the Catholic Church (no. 2181), that all Catholics in the Diocese of Parramatta are dispensed of their Sunday obligation from 20 March 2020 until further notice.
Liturgical celebrations
Following the announcement made by the Prime Minister, Hon Scott Morrison MP on Sunday 22 March, all places of worship must close from midday on Monday 23 March. As such all public Masses (both indoor and outdoor) and other liturgical celebrations must now cease until further notice.
Funerals and weddings are the only exceptions, which may only be celebrated at this time under strict restrictions. Affected people should contact the parish office to discuss their situation.
These measures are to being made to protect the health and life of the whole community, and are not taken lightly. We thank you for your patience and cooperation with these measures. Let us all remain faithful and constant in prayer for the world at this troubling time.
