The disciples thought that sending the crowd off to get food made sense. Jesus shows them that responding to someone's need is not a task to be delegated. Do I, as St Mary MacKillop said, "never see a need without doing something about it"? #Sunday #Gospel In finance, people talk about "return on investment". Jesus reminds us that whatever the cost of our faith, the "return on investment" is beyond measure. Do I truly see my faith as such a treasure? #Sunday #Gospel May the prayers of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Today we celebrate the Solemnity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. We hope we may follow in the footsteps of Mary, Mother of Carmel, so that God’s will may be made possible in our own lives. Happy Feast Day! Do I allow the word of God to grow in my own heart? #Sunday #Gospel As we approach the Solemnity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, we invite you to join us in prayer. Sometimes our position, pride and assumptions blind us to seeing the reality around us. Do I have the humility and trust to open my eyes, ears and heart to Jesus' presence? #Sunday #Gospel Living by the truth can cause challenges, even divisions in relationships with others who take a different view. Do I settle for compromise to 'keep the peace', or do I strive for the true peace that can only be found in Jesus? #Sunday #Gospel Life is full of choices and challenges, and it is easy to go for the path of least resistance. Do I hope to receive recognition for my actions, or do I love freely as I have been loved? #Sunday #Gospel Strengthened by the food that God gives us, let us bring Jesus to the hearts of all, because Jesus involves everyone in his work of salvation by calling each of us to sit at his table. Blessed are those who are called, for they become witnesses of this love! - Pope Leo XIV #Sunday #Gospel #CorpusChristi Too often we create false images of God: the angry, punishing God, the demanding God, the God who rejects those who don't meet specific criteria. Do I try to reject these images and rejoice in the fact that God loves? #Sunday #Gospel
